Piloting to Learn and Launch
As we continue planning with funding from the State of Minnesota, we are launching pilot efforts to try out and evaluate our core solutions, including:
- engage up to 10 pilot families,
- host communal offerings, and
- invite African American birthworkers into a satellite space.
All of these efforts will be held within the Northside Healing Space. We will continue to build our operating plans and begin our evaluation as we work toward a soft opening of HomePlace in the fall of 2025.

Before joining HomePlace, I felt alone when it came to my personal life mentally and financially. Being a first time Mom and life taking a turn in a direction I wasn’t expecting I was no longer able to grasp what was going on. I’m so thankful HomePlace has helped me find hope financially, mentally and physically giving me opportunities to get out the house, to have a therapist and a financial advisor.
This past month speaking with the therapist, im now working on getting my life back to my normal. To get back doing what I enjoy. I have a lot of hope that I’ll be making new connections and new supporters once I get back on my feet again
I joined HomePlace after my baby was born. Being a first time mom, I just feel very limited with knowledge throughout this journey. I’m handling it well but I do wish I was more educated prior to giving birth.
