HomePlace Agreement

The HomePlace Commitment

At HomePlace, we are committed to creating positive outcomes with African American birthing families so that they will have a healthy pregnancy and birth, babies are born into wholeness, and families experience wellbeing together into the future. We are thrilled that you are joining in this commitment.

HomePlace Commitments: These are your commitments as we walk together.

Be part of our community.

  • Join in gatherings and classes to connect and learn together.
  • Develop a path toward your healthy birth and beyond based on cultural ways and evidence-based practices.
  • Know your path will evolve and change along the way.

Walk actively down your path with your HomePlace Team including:

  • A Healing Guide helping support your path
  • A Doula or birthworker to advocate, teach and support
  • A therapist to guide you toward insight and healing
  • A finance specialist to support your economic wellbeing
  • Contribute to our learning approach.
  • Provide feedback and input along the way

Non-negotiables for participation:

  • Monthly communication with your HomePlace Team and Healing Guide.
  • Choosing a Doula or other cultural birth worker.
  • Responding to feedback surveys.

If you cannot engage monthly due to unforeseen life circumstances, your active participation will be paused or discontinued.

HomePlace Direct Resources

Enrolling in HomePlace creates the opportunity for direct resources when needed. You may have access to many kinds of direct resources, such as birthing and parenting supplies. Any resources received through HomePlace are intended to be gifts not income. If you have concerns that receiving any of these resources, including the cash assistance, may impact any benefits you are receiving, please talk with your County financial worker (if you have one) and let us know if there are any resources you do not want to receive.

HomePlace Comprehensive Supports

Through HomePlace, you will have access many kinds of individual and communal supports, including therapy, financial advising, spiritual direction, pre & postpartum doula or birthworker, lactation support, communal education classes and groups on a variety of topics related to pregnancy, birthing, and parenting. Supports will evolve and change over time based on input from participants.

HomePlace Communal Agreements

We ask that participants commit to these communal agreements designed to help create an impactful experience for you, your family, and our HomePlace community. You will work with a HomePlace Guide to support your overall experience. You and your Guide will communicate if there are agreements that need to be revisited.

Data Privacy

As part of your participation, information will be stored in our HomePlace Portal. This information will be shared only with relevant Liberty HomePlace representatives and will follow all legal data privacy regulations. If you would like information to be shared with other providers in the future, there will be release of information options available.
